Untamed and Postponed

A note from the director…

Good day friends..

I hope this finds you all healthy and safe and well supported. If any of those things are lacking, may a speedy recovery to stable ground be found. I trust that each of you has a growing list of tools and resources that you are utilizing to support your mental health and physical needs in these bizarre times. Please remember to find voices in leadership that encourage and educate you. Also, remember to turn off the media and pick up a paintbrush or replant a houseplant or clean out the linen closet or just sit and breathe for a minute. Be kind and smart and patient, with yourself and the folks around you.

Untamed, as a community gathering, has a beautiful purpose… Building a stronger, more diverse community through gathering in safe sacred space, to give and to gain, in the interest of furthering each other’s spiritual growth.. We have volunteers with vision and passion. We have a supportive classic Colorado space to celebrate and congregate. We are blessed, for sure… Unfortunately, with compassion and gratitude, I must postpone Untamed. Our beautiful long weekend of camping and ritual and fellowship will need to be moved to another date because of the pandemic.

I hope that we can all agree that the safety of our communities is the top priority. Our vision of an inclusive pagan celebration in a natural setting still stands. Our commitment to creating and sharing safe sacred space still stands. Untamed will happen, just not at the end of May 2020. The current situation pushes our timeline out a bit but it does not diminish our need to share gifts with our larger Pagan community.

As the director of Untamed, I do not know yet when we will be able to reschedule our weekend with Parrish Ranch. As soon as I am able to confirm with the owner, I will let all of you know.

Please be patient with the Untamed volunteer staff as we scramble to get monies in the right place to do refunds, as we negotiate contracts and pray that our elders are safe… As we work through our own personal circumstances during the pandemic and try to hold space for our beloveds.

We knew this year would have some glitches and we would have to problem solve as we moved through our first festival. This kind of problem solving was not what I had in mind but here we are and we will figure out a new way forward. I have faith in the dedication of our volunteers and the strength of our purpose. I have faith that I will dance around the bonfire with all of you in the future, listening to drums and watching the stars near the Little Thompson.
