Oh, to be wild! To be free! To come make art with Brittany! Did you know Untamed is pairing up with Creative Sensations to host an art workshop? This will be an open forum to bring your current project with you, collaborate with other artists, shoot the breeze, and find inspiration in our gorgeous, remote environment.
As a master craftswoman, I have spent nearly 20 years plumbing the depths of art in multimedia applications. I specialize in fiber art restoration & repair, quilting, and crochet, while dabbling heavily in pottery, painting, and design. For me, an idea is never one dimensional. I wonder how this thing would look in steel vs. silk, 3D or flat, matte vs sheen…
As artists, it all begins and ends with the senses- a flash or vision, a smell that lingers, that leads to creation and evocative expression followed by emotional viewership. What better place to engage in the process than UNTAMED? The beauty of the land beckons us.
Be yourself, bring your craft, and avoid anything requiring power tools please (we have no electricity). I will have supplies and instructions on site for how to make yarn hair (or mane!) if you want to craft but don’t have a project of your own.
I highly encourage community participation, so please stop by and see what your local artists are up to!
On a personal note-
UNTAMED may be 2 years in the making, but it’s staff has been together for a decade, some members even longer. We have weathered many literal and figurative storms together, celebrated our collective joys, and lifted each other into a circle of service that enables us to hold space for all of you.
